Kiki Baldassari

Participated: 2005-2010

Primary Positions: Pitcher, 2nd Base

Championships: Appeared in 8 Championship Finals; Won 3

Overview: Kiki Baldassari was an exceptional contact hitter with great speed. She put extreme pressure on defenses as a hitter and base runner. She ended her career as the all time leader in batting average (.478) and hits (297). Kiki batted right handed for most of her career but switched to batting left handed in 2010. In her first and only season batting left handed, Kiki posted a .583 batting average and a .672 on base percentage against very strong 16U competition. At the time of her retirement, both were the highest for any 16U player.

Kiki's speed translated into tremendous fielding range. Her range coupled with a very strong, accurate arm made her an exceptional fielder.

As a pitcher, Kiki used a combination of fastballs, drop curves, and change ups to attack hitters. She averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game, which at the time of her retirement ranked highest among pitchers with a minimum of 300 innings pitched.
