Parents' Code of Conduct
- Parents should provide advance notice to the coach regarding practices or games that their daughter will not be attending.
- Parents should make every attempt to get their daughters to practices and games on time and pickup their daughters from practices and games on time.
- Parents should not enter the playing field during practices or games unless invited by the coach.
- Parents should avoid coaching their daughters from the stands. Please allow the coaches to direct them while on the field.
- Parents are expected to maintain appropriate levels of behavior as an example to players. Unacceptable behavior includes, but is not limited to, drinking alcohol in the players’ presence, swearing, not controlling temper, and rude or disrespectful treatment of players/coaches/umpires/other parents.
- Parents should never boo, cheer against, or speak negatively about, players on either team.
- Parents should not verbally abuse or threaten players, coaches, or umpires. Public displays of this behavior before, during, or after a game are not acceptable.
- Dissatisfaction with the rules and by-laws and/or their implementation should only be addressed through the Denville PAL Girls Softball Board. Contact information for the board members can be found on the “Contacts” page of our web site (www.denvillesoftball.org). Parents should avoid expressing dissatisfaction through other parents or players.
