2008 Travel Teams Selected

The 2008 Denville Blue Devils teams in the 10U, 12U and 14U age groups have been selected. Each team will begin fall and winter practices in preparation for spring and summer league play. The teams will participate in the NW Jersey Spring Travel Softball League, which is run by Sparta Girls Sports. The spring season runs from April through mid-June. The teams will then participate in the Denville Summer Travel League run by Denville PAL Girls Softball. The summer season runs from mid-June through the end of July. The teams will also participate in a handful of tournaments including the Babe Ruth District Championship.

The 2008 10U Blue Devils are Emily Cabatic, Corinne Carmiche, Marina Castelluzzo, Jasmine Dostanko, Kelly Ebersole, Brielle Mollegard Fasciano, Sarah Houtsma, Melissa Mutz, Mary Catherine Schreck, Carly Shaw, Tiarrah Tolliver, and Claire Wisneski. The coaches are Mike Carmiche, Vince Castelluzzo, Mark Fasciano, and Jody Shaw.

The 2008 12U Blue Devils are Mia Baldassari, Madison Beumee, Chelsea Fischer, Raelyn Giansanti, Kelsey Hanson, Sarah Hill, Madison Housel, Courtney Knudsen, Devan Marshall, Gina Nappi, Ashley Pinter, and Emily Wisneski. The coaches are Tony Baldassari, Dave Giansanti, Mike Hanson, and Rob Hill.

The 2008 14U Blue Devils are Kiki Baldassari, Kelly Campanella, Brianne Dostanko, Amy Fox, Rachel Gellene, Cassie Lange, Corin Marshall, Ashley McCall, Danielle Morris, Taylor Stone, and Julia Strother. The coaches are Ray Morris, Al Gellene, and Bruce Marshall.

2008 Recreation League Registration will Kickoff in November

The registration process for the 2008 Denville PAL Girls Softball Recreation League will begin in November. Registration forms for players attending Kindergarten through 12th grades will be due by December 31. Practices and league games will begin in April. Registration forms will be distributed the students of Riverview, Lakeview, St. Mary’s, and Valleyview schools in November. Forms will also be available at the recreation department in mid-November. Additional forms can be printed at any time from the Denville PAL Girls Softball Website. At the home page, select “Forms” from the left hand side and then select “Recreation League Player Registration Form.”

2008 High School Division

There has been no high school division for the last few years due to low registration numbers in those age groups. We will look to reinstate the High School Division for the 2008 season.

2008 8U Blue Devils

2007 was our first year with an 8U travel team. As was the case in 2007, we will hold tryouts for the 2008 8U Denville Blue Devils in the early spring. Tryouts will be open to players participating in the Denville PAL Girls Softball Recreation League in the 2008 Spring season who were born during 1999 or later. Players who make the team will continue to participate in the recreation league during the spring and may also have periodic practices with the 8U team. Game play for the 8U travel team begins in June and runs through the end of July.
