Junior Division Crowns 2007 Champions

After finishing the regular season as the number one seed, Denville Foodtown continued to perform well throughout the playoffs and won the 2007 Junior Division Championship. Zimmerman Architects finished in second place.

Westenberger Mechanical Takes Senior Division

After a great spring, Westenberger Mechanical entered the playoffs as the number 1 seed and won the 2007 Senior Division Championship. Denville Community Chiropractic Center captured second place.

Travel Softball Tryouts

Tryouts for the 2008 10U, 12U, and 14U Blue Devils teams will be held in September 2007. An optional pre-tryout practice will be held on Saturday September 22. Tryouts will take place on Sunday September 23 and Sunday September 30. Players must attend both tryout sessions. The optional pre-tryout practice and the tryouts will take place on Gardner Field 3 at the following times:

• 10U – 12:00-2:00
• 12U – 2:00-4:00
• 14U – 4:00-6:00.

The 10U team is for players born in 1997, 1998, or 1999. The 12U team is for players born in 1995 or 1996. The 14U team is for players born in 1993 or 1994.

Denville Summer Travel League

Denville will host its third annual Summer Travel Softball League in 2007. The league has divisions for the 8U, 10U, 12U, and 14U age groups and runs from mid-June through the end of July. Denville is fielding a team in each age group.

12U Blue Devils Win NW Jersey Spring Travel League Championship

The 12U Blue Devils entered the playoffs with high hopes after an impressive spring season. 16 teams participated in the playoffs in the 12U, National League Division. Each team needed to win four straight playoff games in the single-game elimination format to win the championship. The Blue Devils captured Denville’s first NW Jersey Spring Travel League Championship by defeating Butler, Roxbury, and High Point, and Lenape Valley in consecutive playoff games.

4 Denville Teams Compete in the Sparta School's Out Tournament

Denville entered teams in the 8U, 10U, 12U, and 14U divisions in the Sparta School's Out Tournament. The Sparta Tournament represented the first action for the newly selected 8U team. Coming into the single game elimination portion of the tournament, the 10U team was the 1st seed out of 16 teams, the 12U team was the 7th seed out of 25 teams, and the 14U team was the 12th seed out of 27 teams.

10U Blue Devils Finish 2nd at Sparta School’s Out Championship Tournament

Sixteen 10U teams competed for the School's Out Tournament Championship. After the seeding games, the 10U Blue Devils entered the single elimination portion of the tournament as the number 1 seed in the A-bracket. After two more impressive victories, the 10U Blue Devils advanced to the finals to face Rockaway. The Blue Devils dropped a close one in the finals and brought home the second place trophy.

Free Summer Pitching Clinic

The Blue Devils will be offering a free one-day pitching clinic for those players interested in trying out for the 2008 10U Blue Devils. The pitching clinic will introduce the players to windmill pitching and will take place on Sunday July 15 at 12:00 on Gardner Field 3. Please contact Tony Baldassari at tonyb4@optonline.net if interested. Space is limited to 10. The first 10 players registering will be given a spot.
