Bobrow’s Bracers Win 2006 Senior League Championship

Bobrow's Bracers were the number 1 seed and the favorite to win the Senior Division Championship. They lived up to their expectations by surviving the double elimination championship tournament and taking down Apollo Tire in the championship game 9-8. Congratulations to both teams for making it to the final game and congratulations to all the teams in the senior division for a great season.

10U Blue Devils Win 2006 Summer Travel League Championship

The 10U Blue Devils capped off a tremendous 2006 season by winning the Summer Travel League Championship in July. The Denville Blue Devils prepared for the 2006 season by working on fundamentals in off-season practices during the fall and winter. They got off to a great start in the Spring Season by finishing 11-1-2. After strong showings in the Spring Travel League and in several tournaments, the Blue Devils entered the Summer Travel League with high expectations. The Blue Devils did not disappoint by going 9-1 in the regular season and entering the playoffs as the number 2 seed. The Blue Devils advanced to the finals by defeating Montville 9-0 and Rockaway 1-0 in the playoffs. Denville capped off a great season and won the title by taking down the undefeated Livingston Thunder 4-0 in the championship game at Veteran’s Field.

2007 Blue Devils Selected

Tryouts were held for the 10U, 12U, and 14U Denville Blue Devils travel softball teams in September 2006. The players were rated in two tryout sessions by a group of raters consisting of the Denville PAL Girls Softball board members. The scores were combined, averaged, and weighted to aid in player selection. 

The 2007 10U Blue Devils are Ruth Advokat, Mia Baldassari, Madison Beumee, Jasmine Dostanko, Chelsea Fischer, Raelyn Giansanti, Kelsey Hanson, Sarah Hill, Madison Housel, Courtney Knudsen, Brianna Mott, Cara Napolitano, Emily Poquette, and Emily Wisnesky. The coaches are Jim Napolitano, Scott Poquette, Jeff Advokat, Jennifer Dostanko, and Dave Giansanti.

The 2007 12U Blue Devils are Hayley Advokat, Kiarra Baldassari, Kelly Campanella, Julia Graziano, Rachel Gellene, Katelyn Johnson, Cassie Lange, Corin Marshall, Gina Nappi, Ashley Pinter, Taylor Stone, and Julia Strother. The coaches are Tony Baldassari, Bruce Marshall, Andy Nappi, and Karen Strother.

The 2007 14U Blue Devils are Danielle Agostini, Becky Becher, Jennifer Dathe, Tiana Halyard, Shelby Horn, Molly Hoyt, Erika Jones, Katie Jones, Breana Maher, Ashley McCall, Emily Michalowski, Danielle Morris, Nicole Policastro, and Paige Stecher. The coaches are Pete Agostini, Charlie Horn, Dave Hoyt, Chris Maher, Ray Morris, and Vinnie Policastro.

Blue Devils Prepare for 2007 Season

After selection in September, the Denville Blue Devil travel teams got right to work preparing for the 2007 season. All three teams began their off-season preparation by practicing through the fall and winter. The travel season runs from the beginning of April through the end of July. 

NW New Jersey is Hotbed for Fastpitch Softball

For the second year in a row, a team from the NW Jersey Spring Travel League ended up in the Babe Ruth World Series. In 2005, the 12U Sparta Blue Diamonds won the Babe Ruth World Series Championship. In 2006, the 12U Mount Olive Mauraders attempted to duplicate the feat. After winning the District, State, and Regional Championships, Mount Olive represented the Mid-Atlantic Region in the World Series. Mount Olive capped off a great year by finishing 4th in the World Series.

2007 Pitching Clinic

Our 2007 Pitching Clinic will be for players from 1st through 6th grades. Even though players do not pitch in our recreation league until the 3rd grade, it is important to begin developing pitching skills earlier. The clinic will take place in April. The fee will be $25. To reserve a spot, contact Tony Baldassari at tonyb4@optonline.net or 973-462-7125.
