Denville PAL Girls’ Softball
Kindergarten Division
Rules
- Regulation game play will
consist of two innings. The score is not kept in Kindergarten Division
games so the number of innings can be modified based on time available.
- All girls play in the field
at all times. No more than 7 players are allowed to play in the infield.
- The batter:
- All players will bat
each inning. The inning is over once all players bat.
- The batting order may
be modified from inning to inning. However, no player may bat more than
once in an inning.
- When the last batter
comes up to bat, all players and coaches must be informed by coach of the
team at bat. The last batter will end the inning regardless of how many
outs there are.
- Bunting is not
permitted.
- The batter must hit
from the batting tee. Do not pitch
the players in the Kindergarten division during the games. This takes too long and the players in
the field get bored. The batter is
allowed as many swings as is necessary to put the ball into play.
- The Runner:
- Runners may advance
only one base on any hit ball.
- No stealing is
permitted.
- Runners may not
advance on an overthrow.
- If three outs are
recorded in an inning, all runners must be removed from base but the
inning shall continue until all players have batted.
- The hitter and runners
may advance as many bases as possible when the last batter in the inning
puts the ball in play.
- Umpire:
- The coach in the field
will serve as the umpire.
- Players called out
must leave the base.
- Base paths will be set at 50
feet.
- Players may wear rubber
cleats (no metal spikes).
