North West Spring League
12 & 14 under Division
The
following is a list of the guidelines for the Northwest Spring league for the 12
& 14 under division.
Rules: Utilize the Babe Rules
Rule Exceptions / Clarifications:
1. Cinderella Batting IS
required in the National Division. American division is not required to bat
Cinderella.
1. If Cinderella batting is
used, all players in attendance bat (player not need be in the field to be in
batting order). If a player must leave
or is injured, player is skipped in batting order without an automatic out
being counted. If a player comes late,
they are added to bottom of batting order.
2. If Cinderella is not used,
coach must select 9 batter lineup (can use DH) Also can use an EP – creating a
10th batter).
2. Roster size of 15 maximum.
3. Free substitution of players
in the field if using Cinderella and re-entry rule not in effect.
4. Standard substitution rules
in effect if not using Cinderella batting.
5. 40’ pitching distance.
6. Pitchers can also re-enter
the mound freely if Cinderella batting is used. (i.e. – One pitcher can pitch
Innings 1 & 4 another 2 & 5 and the third 3 & 6). Pitchers can re-enter mound freely as long as
they are in the game if Cinderella is not used.
7. Host team is the Home team.
8. Host team to provide umpire
for regular season game and initial rounds of playoffs.
9. 7-inning game – Mercy at 12
runs after 5 innings (4 ½ if winning) or 8 runs after 6 (5½ if winning) innings
unless coaches want to continue until time limit.

10 Batter limit per inning (Unlimited in BR)
11. Time limit of 2 hours per
game (no inning to begin after 1 hour and 45 minutes)
Make-up
Games Procedure: Games, if the involved teams elect, will be
made up at their discretion. We are
scheduling an overabundance of games 16-18 – so all will get 12-14 games played
without makeup.
End
of Season Tournament: There will be an end of season
tournament for both the American and National divisions with trophies for 1st
and 2nd place being awarded in each division. The playoffs will
begin on Monday, June 4th. The finals
and semifinals will be held in
Umpires:
This
year, the price for umpires is $ 50.00.
To keep payment easy, the home team will pay $25.00 and the visitor will
pay $25.00 per game.
Behavior: If any manager / coach / parent is removed from a game for any reason by an umpire during
the season, the offending party will be suspended for a minimum of one (1) game
in addition to the game in which the event occurred. Programs are to also insure that their fans,
their players and their coaches behave in a sportsmanlike manner. Sample of behavior guidelines are: No
cheering against your opponent butchering allowed for your own team. No noisemakers and air horns that have become
fashionable of late are allowed. We
expect League Presidents to monitor this basic behavior guideline for their
program.
